Fun, reliable sports car   . . . . .
I've owned six Miatas over the years, and my 2004 Mazdaspeed is my favorite. Most people write these cars off as "chick
cars" -- no V-8 engine and intimidating exhaust rumble, no bold in-your-face styling, y'know...nothing to make up for,
uh, "deficiencies." Miatas aren't fast; even the turbocharged Mazdaspeed I drive is a dog below 3K rpm. Rev it, though,
and it's a rocket. Drive any Miata on a twisty road and it'll take you back to those summer days as a kid, driving
go-karts and enjoying the feel of the breeze on your skin, the immediacy of the steering, feeling every little bump in
the track. If you want a softer ride quality, skip the stiff Mazdaspeed and go with a Base or LS without the suspension
package. If you want a track-ready car for the street, and don't suffer shrinkage when the moron in the Mustang GT blows
your doors off (in a straight line, anyway -- the Miata will put that dude in the weeds the moment the road kinks or
bends), the Mazdaspeed or a non-turbo model with the suspension package is a great choice. And on top of everything
else, it's extremely reliable and gets great gas mileage. I highly recommend this car if having a good time behind the
wheel is a big priority for you.

Roomy, comfortable, stylish crossover   . . . . .
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a Murano that we rented during a trip to Miami and the Florida Keys, so much so that we
bought one in 2005. The car has proven reliable, useful, and exceptionally comfortable. Yes, the design is rather
polarizing, but we like how unusual it looks inside and out. If there's anything I could complain about, it's the number
of interior noises that have developed. The visors squeak, the seats creak, the cargo area rattles -- not really
expected from Nissan. Reliability has been excellent. We have 32K on the car with no problems, only routine servicing.
The seats are very comfortable front and rear, and while the cargo space isn't huge there's plenty of room once the rear
seats are folded down. Gas mileage is pretty good -- we've averaged 19 mpg since we bought it. I certainly would not
steer anyone away from a Murano purchase...just watch those squeaks, creaks and rattles!
