Question: 2003 Toyota Matrix

I'm going to ship my 3003 Matrix to Europe. To be able to register my car over there I need to know certain specs:
1. noise level of this car
2. load on the axles

Thank you

Noise level, I assume you mean the dba the car produces? You need to know how they expect the measurement. You need a specific distance and to truly be accurate, angle which the DB meter is placed.

That said its usually only easy to find interior noise level specs. The 2003 Matrix is rated at 45 dba idle in neutral and 71 dba coasting at 70mph.

The load on the axles, This can mean curb weight, which is 2700-2800lbs depending on the model. It can also mean GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) which the weight of the car at maximum load. This comes in at about 3800-4000 lbs depending on the model.

If they want to know the actual weight per axle, the Matrix has a weight distribution of 59% Front / 41% Rear. So curb weight that's about 1652lbs front and 1148lbs rear. At max load you are looking at about 2360lbs front 1640lbs rear, of course the loaded weight values will change depending on where you load is in the car.

I hope this helps, try to find out some more specifics about the specs they require.

It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
